Engineering Program Manager - SanJose

The Engineering Program Manager is a very senior position with significant P&L responsibilities, the ideal candidate will:
  • Be an outcome focused executive leader and decision maker accountable for the overall delivery of a product to full production.
  • Takes ownership of driving all aspects of execution when a PRD is completed.
  • With the PLM, provides a balanced business/customer versus technology focus and articulate risks and rewards – helps with trade-of decisions.
  • Provide mature leadership anticipating problems, developing options and articulating risk profiles to achieve desired results.
  • Manages a matrixed team with leaders from key functional areas of the company.
  • Obtains commitments from team leaders and functional heads across the company to ensure that a comprehensive and achievable plan is established for delivery of the product to full production.
  • Ensures that the companies business objectives are achieved.
  • Works with the PM to implement a comprehensive program plan that identifies and accounts for cross functional dependencies, risks and resource plans.
  • Addresses program gaps with action plans to remedy.
  • Ensures that there is a product view on the program.
  • “Productize” core technology – making it deliverable in target platforms:
    • Manufacturable, testable, supportable, scalable, stable.
    • Works with PLM to prioritize based on technical risk, ROI, customer needs, etc.
    • Works with TAMs to make sure that key customer needs are met.
    • Performance optimized for key target segments including identifying target client devices.
    • Plans for complete test coverage.
    • Performance baseline and characterization.
    • Architectural consistency and completeness.

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering or related field.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with capability to summarize and present data a must.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Positive, personable, collaborative team player, self-starter with a very strong work ethic and ability to handle pressure and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities.
  • Must exhibit discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Good judgement and ability to make timely, sound decisions and embark on agreed upon course of action as well as good sense of humor and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Prior experience in program management required.
  • Strong understanding of business perspective.
  • Experience with product management and experience with developing silicon and/or complex electronics products preferred.
