Principle Software Engineer / Manager – Software Applications Engineering
Description:
Looking for a principle software engineer / manager to lead a team responsible for Quantenna partners’ joint reference design development and support. You will work with Marketing, Product Line Management, Hardware Engineering, Partner Chip / Software vendors, and OEMs / ODMs to take best advantage of continually improving SoC / Software and Wi-Fi solution - from Quantenna and other major Chip / Software vendors.
You will hire and train a team of software engineers in U.S, China, and / or Taiwan. Acting as a hands-on software lead / manager, you will split your time leading a team, planning projects, participating in building new reference designs, writing C/C++ code, and debugging hard system problems. You will be part of a cross-functional team that maintains close relationships with external chip / software vendors, and you will help determine ’s future product roadmap. Working with Hardware and Firmware engineering teams, you will build a stream of high-performance Wi-Fi access points, Wi-Fi enabled residential gateways, routers, set-top box, and other devices using the latest available, ever improving technology. You will also innovate ways to make embedded Linux networking devices both very fast and extremely reliable.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in Linux networking software product development / integration
- 3+ years experience as a platform or system development / integration engineering manager or lead engineer
- Highly proficient in Linux kernel and device driver (preferable PCIe) development with the ability to efficient bring Linux up on new hardware platform
- Deep knowledge of Linux networking stack concepts and principles
- Familiar with open source application stack such as OpenWRT, RDK-B and etc.
- C/C++ for real-time, embedded systems development skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Requirements:
- Proven success in innovating fast and highly reliable Linux networking devices
- Program or project management experience
- Able to project expected performance of potential new hardware / platform
- Excellent platform problem debugging skills
- Understanding of 801.11 Wi-Fi protocols
- Knowledge of BRCM, QCA, Intel, Lantiq, Freescale, Cavium and/or others’ NPU chipset architectures.
