Software Lead Engineer
Description:
A Software Lead Engineer at Quantenna leads from the front and works alongside the team on firmware, device drivers and system integration for next generations 802.11n MIMO chipsets. Design high performance, modular, and reliable software components for video over Wi-Fi applications. Develop and implement algorithms for 802.11n MIMO PHY, Baseband and MAC. Our Software Lead Engineers also work with management and marketing to define our products, plan our releases and communicate with the team and management to assure we execute crisply to our committed plans.
Requirements:
The essential requirement for any Quantenna Lead Engineer is to enthusiastically commit to doing whatever it takes to define, develop and launch great products built on Quantenna’s game changing WiFi technologies. The ideal candidate will be capable of thinking outside of the box and finding a way to add value at every step of the development process.Any senior engineer who meets most of the requirements and is committed to fill any gaps in the specific requirements listed below is encouraged to apply.
Specific Requirements and Preferences:
- BS in EE, CE, CS or equivalent is required. MS is preferred
- 5+ years firmware or embedded software development and debugging experience is required.
- 5+ years of leading or managing teams as a ‘hands on’ manager or leader is preferred. 2+ years is required.
- Hands-on experience with 802.11 a/b/g/n SoC or product development is preferred. Experience in an adjacent space and aptitude to learn 802.11 rapidly is required.
- In depth knowledge of 802.11 specifications is preferred. Aptitude and eagerness to learn this rapidly is required.
- Experience with Linux kernel and network device driver development is required.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP is required.
- Experience with IPTV or video streaming product development is preferred.
