WiFi System Architect

Job Specifications:

In the position of System Architect or Principal System’s Engineer, the candidate will define system requirements, develop architectures and create advanced algorithms for state of the art WiFi systems. Candidate will interface with customers and internal cross functional teams to develop and derive requirements for the system using big picture knowledge of WiFi system and detailed understanding of the inner working HW and SW algorithms.

Ideal candidate will conduct system simulation, performance optimization and architectural trade-off for hardware and software implementation. He or she will work closely with software and ASIC teams in design, implementation and qualification of designed algorithms.

Requirements:

  • Must have MS or PhD (preferred) with course work in communication, networking or signal processing.
  • 7+ years of experience in wireless or communication system and algorithm development.
  • In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems with previous WiFi experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 (especially 802.11ac) standard is a big plus.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English is a must.
  • Expected to have detailed knowledge and substantial experience in one or more of the following area: advanced wireless communication techniques, MIMO OFDM system design, synchronization and equalization, advanced error correction techniques, video codecs and transport, cross layer optimization, MAC layer design for wireless systems, network level optimization, and RF system design and analysis.
  • Must be able to conduct evaluation of standard techniques, system simulation, performance optimization and architectural trade-off for hardware and software implementation.
  • Knowledge of application layer SW is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ASIC and DSP software implementation, fixed point operation and lab equipment a plus.
  • Able to work with teams globally or execute projects independently.
  • Prior work experience with multi-national firms is an asset.
