Wi-Fi System Software Engineer
Job Specifications:
In the position of Wi-Fi System Software Engineer the candidate will define system requirements, and create advanced algorithms and implement them for state of the art Wi-Fi systems. Candidate will interface with customers and internal cross functional teams to develop and derive requirements for the system using big picture knowledge of Wi-Fi system and detailed understanding of the inner working HW and SW algorithms.
Ideal candidate will optimize system performance and implement and design new features. He or she will work closely with software and ASIC teams in design, implementation and qualification of designed algorithms.
Requirements:
- Must have MS or PhD (preferred) with course work in communication, networking or signal processing.
- 7+ years of experience in wireless or communication system and algorithm development.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems with previous Wi-Fi experience a plus.
- Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 (especially 802.11ac) standard is a big plus.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English is a must.
- Expected to have detailed knowledge and substantial experience in one or more of the following area: advanced wireless communication techniques, MIMO OFDM system design, cross layer optimization, MAC layer design for wireless systems, network level optimization, and RF system design and analysis.
- Must be able to conduct evaluation of standard techniques, system simulation, performance optimization and architectural trade-off for hardware and software implementation.
- Knowledge of application layer SW is a plus.
- Knowledge of ASIC and DSP software implementation, fixed point operation and lab equipment a plus.
- Able to work with teams globally or execute projects independently.
- Prior work experience with multi-national firms is an asset.
