Quantenna's 4x4 MIMO 802.11n Wi-Fi Chipset Powers Wireless Video Streaming at IP&TV; World Forum

Conference Award Finalist Demonstrates High-Definition (HD) Wireless Video Delivery with 1080p Quality and Whole-Home Coverage

FREMONT, Calif., March 14, 2011 -- Quantenna Communications, Inc., a leading developer of 802.11n silicon for streaming and distributing high-definition (HD) video throughout the home, today announced it will be demonstrating its Full-11n™ 4x4 MIMO 802.11n chipsets at the IP&TV; World Forum, March 22 through March 24, 2011, in London.

Quantenna is one of only three finalists in the conference's IP&TV; Award competition for best enabling silicon, IP or component technologies, and the only finalist with whole home connectivity. Quantenna's chipset was the first to deliver multiple full HD video to any display, anywhere throughout the home, with carrier-grade reliability. Now, the company is winning major service providers that fuel the convergence of TV and the Web as titans like Google, Apple and Microsoft drive the convergence of entertainment and the Internet.

Quantenna's HD Video-over-Wi-Fi services with wire-like quality and reliability using 4x4 MIMO 802.11n will be demonstrated in Meeting Room (MR) 9 at the Olympia Exhibition Centre, throughout the show.

“The IP&TV; World Forum is an ideal venue for demonstrating the carrier-grade coverage and reliability of our award-winning 4x4 MIMO 802.11n chipset,” said Dr. Sam Heidari, chief executive officer for Quantenna. “The world is moving to next-generation, multi-platform TVs, and we're helping to pave the way by delivering an ultra-reliable, high-performance Wi-Fi connection that is critical for deploying converged broadcast and Internet-based entertainment services.”

At the IP&TV; Forum, Quantenna will be showing a number of capabilities for its carrier-grade, 4x4 MIMO 802.11n chipset, which transmits low-latency H.264 encoded video through multiple walls, over 100 meters, to multiple rooms and screens, with the same quality, reliability and near-zero latency performance as video transmitted over a wired HDMI connection.

Winners of the IP&TV; Award competition will be announced March 23. Now in their fifth year, the IP&TV; Industry Awards recognize service providers and solution providers for their innovation, excellence and achievement in the IP&TV; industry. The awards have been expanded during 2011 to reflect both the growing range of service providers implementing IP broadcast and the growing range of IP-based TV services. Last month, Quantenna's 4x4 MIMO 802.11n chipset was named an International CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Awards winner in the Enabling Technologies category.

About Quantenna's 4x4 MIMO 802.11n Chipset

Quantenna's third-generation chipset fully supports the IEEE802.11n standard with advanced features including 4x4 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) plus IEEE802.11n extensions ranging from dynamic digital beamforming and mesh networking to wireless channel monitoring and optimizing. Quantenna's chipsets enable Wi-Fi networks to deliver the same quality as wired Ethernet, while guaranteeing compatibility with existing and future IEEE 802.11n-compliant products. Quantenna's chipsets have been integrated into retail products from the industry's top manufacturers and deployed in a dozen carrier field trails from leading service providers, worldwide, including Swisscom, which has been offering Quantenna-based wireless video streaming and distribution services since October 2010.
