Software Application Engineer

Description:

  • Architect, Design, develop and support various customer designs in Wireless LAN applications (11n and 11ac), including WLAN, network processors and related network products
  • Provide inputs to marketing and core engineering in future product development
  • Participate and support system architecture tasks of customer platforms
  • Provide customer design support in detailed software architecture, hardware/software partitioning and driver development, using Internet Protocol (IP) and related technologies and domains, such as UDP, TCP, IGMP, IPv4/6, MII, Ethernet, PCIe, MAC, routers, switches, bridges
  • Perform embedded software development on embedded System-on-Chip (SoC) environment for device drivers and networking protocols, and OS kernel internals, such as Linux/Unix
  • Resolve customer software design and system integration problems
  • Participate in the manufacturing design process from the initial phase of development through to system performance verification and software QA test plans
  • Working on different CPU architectures (including ARM, MIPS, ARC) and various RTOS (including Linux, QNX, VxWorks), perform precision coding with real-time OS timing, program access to hardware devices, and perform embedded software debugging (e.g. ICE, Oscilloscopes)
  • Able to track, prioritize incoming requests from the field and guide internal development

Requirements:

  • MS in EE,CE CS or equivalent is required
  • 5+ years experiences of application engineer or software engineer in embedded system
  • Willing to deal with customer and field issue
  • Strong problem-solving skill to isolate and resolve issue
  • Experience with switch/router/gateway networking device development,
  • Experience with WIFI (802.11) application or driver development
  • Experience with embedded Linux or Vxworks/eCos/Nuclear OS
  • Experience with ARM/MIPS or other architecture embedded platform
  • Familiarity with co-working with hardware engineer for system issue
  • International travel is required
  • Chinese (Mandarin) speaking is preferred
