IT Manager / Director of IT

    The hands-on IT Manager / Director of IT will develop and support technology solutions ideal for a semiconductor based company.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft, Linux, and storage Technologies and is an expert in designing, but more importantly, implementing and supporting solutions.  The position is a hands-on role and will require the person to participate in both day-to-day and after hours support activities as well as be responsible for managing a small team of support staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business and technical requirements for Organization Infrastructure and manage key projects related to the company’s overall goals.
  • Collaborate, build, and support the global infrastructure.
  • Design, document and build infrastructure components related to windows, linux, storage, communications networks, and monitoring environments.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory, NIS, Linux, and VMWare infrastructure and build components to ensure secure and stable environment.  
  • Design, architecture, of Organizations storage environment utilizing tiered storage solutions.
  • nteraction with 3rd party vendor for ensuring management and operations excellence of our production environment.
  • Overall accountability for uptime and performance of infrastructure environment
  • Management of Organization’s communication networks
  • Design and develop monitoring systems that provide proactive, rather than reactive notifications to key business units and IT members.
  • Manage a small team of IT professional and consultants
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings with both IT and management.
  • Manage annual operating and capital budgets for the global IT team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer technology discipline or related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure design and architecture across multiple distributed computing technologies - including server, network and storage technologies. 
  • 5+ years in managing technical teams
  • 10+ years’ experience in windows, linux, NIS, exchange, Netapp storage, and networking
  • In-depth knowledge of SAN and NAS infrastructure products. 
  • Experience in performance monitoring & optimization of distributed computing environments. 
  • Application development and support experience including perforce, ICManage and Bugzilla. 
  • Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing and mentoring staff.
